valentine to my husband

this is a collaged visual poem about surviving an abusive marriage.
it’s my best attempt at something i’ve always failed to have words for. i made it to make sense of what happened. to survive it, and to let it go.
if it helps you feel less alone, i’m grateful.
all my love,
ashley
life, still
a mixed-media meditation on memory, domesticity, and the fragmentation of meaning. life, still layers vintage ephemera, anatomical illustrations, and found objects beneath three inches of resin. this piece evokes the inner life of a desk that once bore witness to secrets, studies, and small acts of rebellion. the central bouquet blooms defiantly amid the chaos, while open pillow like books spill coded imagery and celestial references. alluding to the tension between knowledge and erasure, this piece invites the viewer to decipher what’s been recorded, what’s been censored, and what was never meant to be found.

hand-poked tattoos
each tattoo begins as a whispered idea. a charm, a secret, a symbol is brought to life slowly, by hand. i draw inspiration from the offbeat elegance of vintage magazines, where forgotten details become portals to new meaning. my hand-poked tattoos are delicate, intentional, and designed to feel like they’ve always belonged on your skin. this is ritual as adornment: a private, luxurious experience where art, intimacy, and body reverence intertwine.
